Blair Ritchey Studio
I recently stopped by the Blair Ritchey studio to catch up with my #girlboss friend on all things life, design, and handbags. Blair is a local Cleveland handbag designer. Her pieces are the perfect mix of chic, functional, and luxury. I sat down with her to learn how she started, what struggles she has faced, and how beneficial it is to create your own brand. Knowing Blair for almost a year now, I can say that her personality shines in her pieces. She is polished, professional, and a little unfiltered - what a combo. Having her own line for 5 years now, she knows the work, motivation, and consistency it takes to create your own brand. It was refreshing to hear that this was not a walk in the park, Blair expressed with me the countless hours of research and testing that goes in to her work.
I asked Blair how she began manufacturing her accessories in Cleveland, her response... "in the most Cleveland way possible." She shared with me that she spent numerous hours in the library researching different manufacturers for leather. After coming up short countless times, she gave a last ditch effort and called a company that manufactured vacuum bags. Yes, vacuum bags. They turned around and expressed honestly that they had never manufactured a handbag, but if she taught them, they would do it. Together they learned how to create a leather handbag and they have created her product from that day forward. I love Blair's made in America vibe and cannot wait to show you a few of my favorites from her collection.
