Making + Keeping my 2017 Resolutions

A look at some of my 2017 life + beauty resolutions

One of the most common things we do at the beginning of every year is set these amazing and completely unreachable New Years resolutions. I am without a doubt guilty of this. This year I have taken a different approach. Don't get me wrong; you should always have a goal in mind, not just on January 1st. I am constantly working to better myself whether it is with work, health, friendships, or personal accomplishments. This is not something that I decide to write down when the new year begins. As I achieve one goal or step, I am going to the next part of my life, taking turns and showing each a little more attention.

That being said, I am a sucker for a fresh start. I love the idea of a clean slate- a new beginning. This year instead of adding to my already overwhelming list of goals I have decided to make small lifestyle changes or enhancements. Little things to improve my overall happiness :)

YOGA

I discovered the benefits of yoga about four years ago, and it has without a doubt changed my overall health and lifestyle. I have noticed an incredible difference in my patience and view of the world. The best reward by far was change I saw in  my body. I felt longer, leaner, and stronger after just a few months. This is my favorite type of exercise so going forward into the new year I will be incorporating yoga into my life more frequently!

 

SKIN CARE

I have been totally obsessed with skin care lately. Especially now that we have entered harsh winter here in Cleveland, I have been doing non-stop research on anti-age prevention, hydration, and the best natural beauty products. This year is all about keeping the face fresh!

 

INSPIRATION

As I said before, I am a firm believer in setting goals. One of the most beneficial ways I found in reaching my goals is physically looking at them. In the office, on my phone, in my room. I keep images and quotes of the things I want whether it is a material item or a personal achievement. Looking at want you want every day is a constant reminder to work for it.

ORGANIZATION

Organization will save your life. I promise you if you are a crazy hot mess...because who isn't, keeping yourself organized will make your life just a leeeetle easier. I like to keep two planners, yes they both say the same thing. I find that when I am physically writing my tasks and lists down I am getting them done. There is some very strange but very real satisfaction of crossing something off your list. I keep one on my desk in the office and one in my home office. I will put anything and everything in my planner from dinner dates to blog posts if I am doing it that day..it is in my planner. It may be a little excessive, but hey whatever works for you.

I love that with the new year comes a nice clean agenda the endless opportunity in the blank pages is what motivates me to do what I love.

 

TRAVEL

I have always had this crazy wanderlust since I could remember. Traveling is by far one of my greatest joys in life. I love to see new cities, how people live, the local hot spots. I am so intrigued with seeing the world around me. Every year I make it a point to travel to a new city and state. I cannot wait to see what 2017 has in store!
