You have all heard it, it's nothing new....but it's still the best thing out there so here are the reasons I drink apple cider vinegar every single morning.
Full disclosure: this stuff DOES NOT taste good. At all. In any way. That needed to be said before we move on because this is not made for the weak.
Now, let's talk apple cider vinegar. HOW THRILLING. I joke, but this is the kind of stuff I stay up until 1am reading. I live for life hacks and wellness tips so after seeing results myself using this, the word needed to be spread.
Before I dive into the benefits and such let me just say that you cannot use just any apple cider vinegar, it needs to be the Raw-Unfiltered kind with the "Mother", a safe bet is to always go with Braggs!
Let me start off with the benefits:
Fights Colds: ACV is loaded with immune boosting vitamins and antioxidants to keep you healthy.
Balances Blood Sugar: the acetic found in ACV can help balance blood sugar and levels and improve diabetes
Aids Weight Loss: promotes fat loss and reduce sugar cravings
Detoxes the Body: ACV has antibacterial and antimicrobial properties. Consuming helps flush harmful toxins out of the body
Promotes Good Gut Bacteria: ACV contains probiotics and a type of acid that promotes the growth of probiotics. Probiotics are "good gut" bacteria that help keep you healthy.
Relieves Constipation: (TMI but like were human so..) ACV acts as a natural laxative. It stimulates the digestive system and helps your body break down food. Bonus it also helps to absorb fiber (which don't even get me started on my love for fiber, we will save that for another day)
How to Drink:
Now I am sure you have heard the suggestions to take a shot of this in the morning...I have tried this and can tell you 100% not to do it, and for a few reasons actually. No need to be that hardcore, there is no one to impress. In all honestly ACV is extremely potent and obviously acetic. This can actually do some harm to your teeth, esophagus, and digestive system. Rather, dilute 2 tablespoons of the vinegar with 8 ounces of water. I like to warm my water, making it more soothing first thing in the morning.
Do this first thing in the morning (post brushing teeth) it will kickstart your digestive system, metabolism, and when done consistanly you can reap all the glorious benefits it has to offer. Some things I have noticed myself are clearer skin, healthier digestion, healthy metabolism, less bloat (praise!) and overall more energy!
In all honesty I cannot recommend this enough, it may not taste amazing but it truly is such an amazing way to do something good for your body every single morning. Start your day off with intention and see how it can shape the rest of your day in to becoming more mindful of what you are putting in and how you are taking care of yourself.
