Oversized and Over-bundled in Grey
We are having unseasonably COLD weather here in Charleston! Cold enough to the point where even a backless sneaker was a bad idea. It's a conflicting situation when you watch the first snowfall at home stick to the earth and for a split second, you have the nostalgia of Christmas time back north, while you're relaxing at 75 degrees. I caught myself wishing for a white Christmas again...then I got 37 degrees and grey cold rainy weather and I was quickly reminded of the reality that is winter in Cleveland. In all seriousness, I am actually very much looking forward to being back home for the holidays. I absolutely love being home this time of year, so thank you Charleston for giving me a quick reminder of the cold coldplace I came from and preparing me for the "so cold it hurts" weather we will be going into in just a week.
This season, for me, has been basics on basics on basics. Essentially layering as many as humanly possible and preferably all in the same shade of color. This Sunday I went for an all grey bundled look to run around in (probably inspired by the previous few days of weather.) I paired my oversized heather grey sweater with my high waisted skinny jeans in a light grey wash and my grey plaid menswear duster. I absolutely LOVE this jacket and with a mild winter in the south, it has quickly become my favorite layering piece. A new item of mine that I am currently obsessing over is my new cat eye sunnies from Monarchy Eyewear. They are made in Italy and so absolutely gorgeous. A family friend of ours started the business and has officially launched their entire collection! I highly recommend checking their site out. To be completely honest, they are better quality than a lot of the designer sunglasses I already own.
